7 Easy Hairstyles For Curly Hair | Beauty Junkie
Curly hair is a godsend. Sure, you might not think that all the time, but curly hair has so many benefits! Like natural volume, which adds a certain whimsy to any hairstyle. With braids, you'll never have to worry about them being flat — the curls add bulk that many straight-haired women load up on styling powder for. And topknots are never, ever puny with curls!
Because we wanted to show off how versatile curly hair is, we recruited celebrity hairstylist Richard Collins, whose clients include Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, and Helen Mirren, to create these seven gorgeous looks that any curly girl can replicate at home — a look for every day of the week!
In terms of products you'll need on standby, Richard suggests something to tame frizz and keep your mane controlled. Schwarzkopf curling cream is his favorite. "It's also light. You don't want anything too heavy on curly hair, or any hair, really."
So what advice does Richard have for those who have curly hair? "A lot of people with curly hair want it straight. Try not to flat iron it too much; try not to use a curling iron too much. Definitely use something with a heat protector in it." And in terms of washing your hair, Richard suggests washing your curls every fourth day. "And I think you can get away with not using shampoo. Sometimes you can get away with just using conditioner. You need to use shampoo, but it's not necessary every single time. I think it's a mistake that people use it every single time. Unless you're Spinning or something. In between, try to use conditioner," says Richard.

How to Style Your Hair Before Bed | Salon Hair Tutorial
If your hair is already lovely and bouncy and wavy and curly, and you want to keep that, the best thing to do is to touch it on your head so you don’t mess it up whilst your head is laying down on a pillow. Another great thing to use is a silk pillowcase because that will stop too much friction with the hair and the material on the pillow.

Hair Color Correction
Getting your hair colored is one of the most sought after things
these days, primarily because of the shine and shimmer it adds to dull,
lackluster locks. It is in fact, the easiest way to cover gray and
change the way you look. However, the experience can be disastrous as
well, if not done under the guidance of hair experts. Several beauty
salons are frequented by people who have had unpleasant experience with
hair colorations and want color corrections.
Color correction, as the name suggests, corrects the hair color and gives you that stunning look which you always have desired. Most hair experts are of the view that color correction can best be done within three days of hair damage. However, you always have the option of visiting the beauty salon nearest to you to get the color correction done. Bare in mind, you may be required to visit the hair salon several times, if the hair has been greatly damaged.
If you have recently had your hair colored and it is just not suiting your style, you can go for hair color remover, but make sure that you do this in a hair salon only or else you might end up having brassy and even more damaged hair. Only a professional at a beauty salon can help you have the hair color you desire.
If you just have had highlights done, and they are lighter than what you expected, you may ask your hair salon expert to use a hair toner. On the other hand, if the highlights are darker than what you had envisioned, you would have to re-color your hair. One thing you should bear in mind while getting your hair colored again is that use of a good, color enhancing conditioner can prevent further hair damage.
The perplexities associated with experimenting with hair at home result in hair disasters which apparently have no solution but to seek advice from your beauty salon expert.

Wedding Expert Tips:How to Choose Bridal Hair Accessories
When you want to add that final special touch on your wedding day look, bridal hair accessories offer many beautiful options. Ranging from veils to jeweled hair clips, hair accessories complement a range of bridal styles! Before choosing your bridal hair accessory, decide how you want your hair for the big day -- the hairstyle will determine how a veil fits or whether a jeweled clip stands out against the hairstyle.
Another thing to consider is how the hair accessory looks next to the gown. If the bridal gown is bright white, a vintage or cream-colored veil will not complement the overall look. Likewise, an ivory or cream gown will clash with a brightly jeweled hairpiece -- so always look for accents that complement the look and style of the dress.

The Story Behind KEVIN.MURPHY
A master of his profession, no one understands the transformative power of hair better than Kevin Murphy. His work has graced the covers of all the major global print publications and he has directed hair teams for countless high profile fashion houses. Having trained at Vidal Sassoon in London, Kevin returned to Australia to establish himself as one of the country’s most sought-after stylists. As a regular contributor to Australian Vogue he has carved his niche within the industry as the go-to-guy for the ‘beach hair’ look, and in 2007, Kevin was awarded the Australian Masters Award at the AHFAS for his outstanding contributions to the profile of Australian Hairdressing worldwide.
Working on shoots and fashion shows, models go through a number of hair and makeup changes in the course of a day. Kevin found that as the day progressed the models’ hair became heavy, dull and lifeless, and there were no styling products on the market that fulfilled his needs as an editorial stylist… so, he created his own, and in answering his own needs as a stylist, he developed products that were easy to use and crossed over to consumers perfectly.

Get Perfect Texture for Beach Waves with This DIY Spray
You know the drill. You watch a video and the person on the screen tells you that DIY beach waves are actually super easy to achieve. Your ears perk up and you think this might be a game changer when it comes to your fine, straight hair, only to realize the person has naturally wavy hair, and all they're doing is spritzing in a sea salt spray.
That's great and all, but what about when your hair won't wave for anything? There's no amount of sea salt that will create a wave in stick-straight hair, amirite? Here's how I do it. Wash you hair with a hydrating, lightweight shampoo and conditioner, add a little volumizing spray to your root and let the hair air dry a little, but don't be afraid to use a hair dryer. Just make sure you're not shaking the dryer so it creates frizz or roughness to the hair. Once the hair is dry, spritz in some DIY sea salt spray — instructions in the video above — and if you need to, throw some waves in with a large-barrel curling iron.
It's not the easiest method, but it's really the only way to achieve waves if your hair is straight as a board, in my honest opinion!

Choosing Your Wedding Hairstyle - What You Should Remember
As a bride you definitely want to look your best and all eyes
will be on you all through the day. To look gorgeous from head to toe is
a must and your hair is one of those things you should take seriously
besides choosing a great looking gown. There are long lists of best
bridal hairstyles and remembering a few things can help you make the
right decision with your wedding hairstyles.
Match the hair with the gown
This is one of the most important things if you do not want to end up looking as though your hair is competing with the gown. Striking a match between the two is what you should focus on. If you have a modern chi dress, select a sleek blow out or hold your hair back. For a gown that has a country look or peasant dresses and high waist frocks choose curls for your hair and you can add tiny flowers to complete the curly look. Dramatic up dos on the other hand can turn out great for big ball gown type of dresses. Whatever you choose should match with the type of dress you have selected. The tip here is to choose your dress first before then finding the perfect hairstyle.
The length of your hair matters
This is something most brides forget even though it is very important. Some styles are best for long hair while others are more suitable for short hair. Wedding hairstyles for short hair are more popular, but you can also rock your wedding with amazing wedding hairstyles for long hair. For short locks, a mini barrette and a pixie make very good chic and simple wedding looks but the choices are numerous. For longer locks, buns, barrettes and petals are some amazing ideas. Your hairdresser can come in handy in giving you choices depending on the length of your hair. Fashion magazines can also be helpful sources for any length of hair.
Remember the veil
Apart from making sure that your wedding hairstyle matches with the dress, also remember the veil and how suitable the hairstyle is going to be for your veil. If you have chosen a style whose charm is lost under the veil, you can consider wearing fascinators which are back and trending. There are also fancy short bridal hats that can be worn but make sure that you choose the veil before you go for the hairstyle to keep limits at bay.
Understand your hair type
This is very important because even the simplest hairstyles look great on particular hair types. Very short hair or hair that is very fine can be tricky to work with but there are styles that best suit this kind of hair. Same goes for curly hair, which can be tricky to straighten and make skinny. Know which hairstyles your hair will hold without problems. You should actually consider booking a trial with your hairdresser to help make a great choice beforehand.

Why You Should Have Your Hair Done By Professionals
A good number of people would rather do their hair at home since
it is cheaper and does not require much time. In as much as this is a
great option, especially with the availability of hair care equipment
and products, it is still advisable to have your hair done at a
professional hair salon whenever you can. There are greater benefits of
letting the professionals handle your hair for you.
- The professionals know just the right way to handle your hair whether you are looking for a haircut, styling or coloring. They have vast knowledge of the best techniques and will easily find you the best to suit your facial features and other features such as the shape of your head and your body type. Excellently done hair can make you stand out and can be the difference you need to hide some of the issues you are most concerned about.
- With professional care, you can have most of your hair issues sorted out. This includes solutions to damaged hair or breaking hair, dandruff and other hair problems that you might have. Your personal home styling and products or hair tools you use could be the root causes of your hair problems. With the help of the professionals, you can be sure that such problems will be solved and the effects reversed if possible to get your healthy beautiful hair back.
- The market has numerous hair product brands and they contain different ingredients. What you might not know is that some of the ingredients in the products can harm your hair and scalp and even pose health risks generally. When you have your hair done by professionals at a good hair salon, however, you can be sure that only the best and high quality products will be used on your hair. These are the products with the best ingredients most of which are natural and formulated to bring out the very best from your hair.
- At the hair salon, you can actually save plenty of your time. This is because the stylists know everything around their jobs and will easily handle your hair needs in no time at all. This cannot be compared to the time you might spend washing and styling your hair for an event or for the office. An appointment will make sure that you get attended to as soon as you arrive so that you don't end up getting late for your other appointments.
- The professionals in the hair salon can offer you fast and quick home hair care tips to make sure that you get by just fine even when you are not ready for a salon visit. With the professional advice, you will find it easier to maintain healthy hair and get the styling right and easy when you don't have time for the salon. How to Create Glamorous Waves vs. Beachy Waves With an Iron
When it comes to creating wavy hair, it's easier said than done. There are plenty of hacks: sleep in braids, scrunch your hair, use a beach-wave spray. But if your hair is straight as a board, you're going to need heat to keep your waves intact.
Plus, not all waves are created equal! Polished, sleek, Old Hollywood waves are perfect for work, taking meetings, or a fancy night out, while beach waves are the perfect "I'm carefree and fabulous!" daytime look or — if you're like me — create a sexy, edgy look with texture for a night of dancing.
There are a few tricks to mastering each look and a few products you'll need by your side, too. Check out how to get both of these full-range wave looks in this quick tutorial.

Sweetheart Braid Combo | Heart Hairstyle | Cute Girls Hairstyles
Who doesn't love wearing stylish Heart Hairstyles to match this season of love? I know wearing heart hairstyles at this time of year is often a favorite thing to do! And I'd imagine you will always get so many compliments from teachers, friends, or even random strangers with this lovely hair!
To create this Sweetheart Braid Combo begin by creating a part from one side of the head to the back middle. Then create half of a heart shape on either side. Pull the heart shape hair into an elastic to keep it out of the way. Secure the hair on the right side out of the way too.
Begin to braid the left side of the hair. We used a lace dutch braid so we only added pieces into one side of the braid. Braid this all the way down to the ear and continue a regular braid till the end of the hair. Repeat on the other side.
Then use a french braid to braid the heart shape hair together. At the end braid all the hair together to create one single braid and secure the ends with an elastic.

5 Questions You Must Ask Your Hair Stylist
So you managed to finally find a hair stylist that you like. He
or she knows not only your hair type and preferences, but probably your
favorite drink, your opinion on Tom and Katie, and that your co-worker
is cheating on her husband. It may seem impossible, but you can further
improve the relationship with your stylist, as well the quality of your
hair, by asking just a few simple questions.
1. How should I maintain my hair at home and which products should I use?
After cutting your hair the first time, your stylist has a pretty good idea of your hair texture and tendencies. If you have gone over pictures together, he or she knows the desired outcome of your hair. With this in mind, your stylist will be able to tell you how to get the look at home and which products to use. Most times, the products are sold directly at the salon or you can even browse online for a discount.
2. I'd like to go for a new look. Which cut do you think would suit me?
A stylist can become bored with creating your hair style, just as much as you can become bored looking at it, especially if you have been going to the same one for a long time. Discuss this issue in a diplomatic way, explaining that you'd like a new look and are seeking their counsel. Talk to your stylist about what image you'd like to convey and it always helps to bring pictures for clarity.
3. How can I change my look without changing the cut?
Variety is the spice of life and hair is no exception! You may love your salon look because it gives off a professional feel perfect for the office. But how about those Friday nights when you fee like vamping it up? Ask your stylist to introduce you to the multiple facets of your cut. If he or she did the job right, you should be left with hair that's versatile enough to pull off a few styles within the same cut.
4. When is your least busy time for an appointment? What time is your first available appointment?
As you can imagine stylists get very busy, so it is important to be considerate and schedule your appointment in advance. If you would like a consultation in addition to a hair cut, also mention this. Like everyone else, stylists get tired. It is helpful to come in on their least busy day or to be one of their first appointments.
5. Could you put some of the hair dye you used in my shampoo to keep my color lasting longer?
No matter how much you love your colorists, you don't want to see them often for touch-ups. A little known secret is to add some of the dye used on your hair to a daily shampoo. This will keep your color lasting longer until your next appointment. A few drops is all you need and most stylists do not have a problem doing this, especially if your purchase a shampoo from the salon.

Want a New Hair Color? Questions to Consider
There is nothing better than the feeling of walking out of a hair
salon knowing that you look and feel you best. Changing your hair color
is a great way to give yourself a new and updated look. However, there
are still many people who prefer to color their own hair at home. While
this saves money, there is a greater risk involved. After all, you are
not a professional hair stylist.
Therefore, before you make your decision about a new color and how you are going to do it, consider the following questions:
Q: Do I do it myself or go to a hair salon?
Your decision to do the color yourself or get it done at a hair salon can have a large impact on the outcome. There is a certain amount of risk involved with doing it yourself. And, nothing is more relaxing than sitting back and letting a colorist give you a great new look.
There is no risk involved going to a salon to get your hair done. When a stylist colors your hair you will avoid a potential hair disaster.
Q: How much do I want to pay?
With so many hair color and highlight products available, many people are tempted to do it themselves. Yes, it comes at a considerably lower price, but you often get what you pay for. If you do decide to do it yourself, pay close attention to the details provide on the hair color box.
Q: Will color damage my hair?
When people color their own hair they often do damage it because they do not have the knowledge to do it properly. Many people apply too much hair color, leave it on too long, or apply it too often. Professional hair colorist's will not damage your hair.
Q: Will my color be even if I do it myself?
That depends. Have you done it before and achieve reasonable results? The truth is you won't know until you are done. However, if you go to a stylist, they will definitely color your hair evenly. Uneven color not only looks bad, but it will require the attention of a hair stylist to fix it properly. Don't risk the embarrassment.
Q: Can I match the color I want?
This is tough to do for amateurs, especially if you already have color in your hair. When you have color in your hair, it is more difficult to predict the outcome. And, home color kits fail to provide you with the results you see on the box. On the other hand, hair colorist's know what colors to mix to achieve the exact hair color you want.
Q: Will my new hair color look good?
Hair stylists will make recommendations. They know what hair colors look good on certain types of people. If you do it yourself, your hair might not look as good as you anticipated. Hair colorist's have experience will all hair style and colors. They know what will work and what wont.
While it is more cost-effective to color your own hair, it is also a risk. Don't risk ruining your hair by doing your own color. Get your color done by a professional hair stylist. Some things are just better left to the professionals.
