We're all for a product that makes our lives easier, so when we saw an advertisement for the Air Curler, we figured why not give it a whirl — literally. The funnel connects to your hair dryer like an attachment, and after placing your hair into it and adjusting the nozzle, it claims to give you gorgeous, bouncy curls.
One of my all time favorite hairstyles is the Pull Thru Braid. So when I learned this version I knew I had to show others too! This hairstyle tutorial is perfect for any occasion including a Homecoming dance hairstyle, a prom hairstyle, a simple every day hairstyle, or even an athletic hairstyle.
Begin this hairstyle by creating a french braid on each side of the head. I don't add in much hair and when I run out of hair at the end I simply secure with an elastic.
Now I take a small section of hair near the back of my head and add an elastic. I like to poof this section to add some volume and fulness to my hairstyle. This also gives me the base of the pull-thru braid.
Create an entire pull thru braid with the remainer of the hair. Be sure to pancake the hair as you go to add even more fullness! Now I take the beginning french braids and lay them over the top of the pull thru. Use bobby pins to secure the braids to the back of your head.
Once they are secure I roll the braid up and into a ball and tuck it under the braids to hide the ends. Again use bobby pins to secure.

In this holiday hairstyle tutorial you will learn how to create a fishtail braid on the side of your head. You then create the holiday hair by bobby pinning the fishtail back, creating another basic braid underneath and sweeping the whole hairstyle to the side. This create a beautiful holiday hair idea that is sure to get so many compliments!
This holiday hair is great as a holiday hairstyle for medium hair, and a holiday hairstyle for long hair!

Ouidad is dedicated to empowering individuals with curly hair to understand, enhance and love their hair.
"Decades ago, when I decided to open a salon and develop products specifically for curly and wavy hair, everyone from beauty editors to bankers told me I was crazy. I didn't listen for a second. I knew that like me, so many other curly-haired people in the world needed someone to help them understand their curls and teach them how to care for and style them.
When I was a young girl my mother never knew what to do with my curls. Most of the time my hair was thrown up on the top of my head and tied with a large bow - not exactly a look to instill curl confidence in a young girl! Years later when I was starting my career, I still could not find someone who knew how to cut my curls. I have spent countless hours sharing curl stories with my clients. We all faced similar struggles, dealing with childhood, curl-related traumas, and many of us never believing that our curls were beautiful. I want everyone to see that curly hair is a gift to be celebrated and enjoyed everyday, which is why my life’s mission has been creating a comprehensive, holistic approach to curl care.
We formulate our products specifically for the unique needs of curly hair. They are gentle, water-soluble and constantly replenish lost moisture. Our Ouidad Salons are home to my trademarked Carving & Slicing® cutting methods, designed to provide the foundation for beautiful curls. Our stylists are professionally-trained to not only cut and style curls to perfection, but also to help educate clients about caring for and styling their own curls. Let us help you embrace and express your beautiful curls!" - Ouidad

Curly hair's unique anatomy means all curl types are prone to frizz. So what's a curl to do when frizz leaves hair looking dull and frazzled? In Today's episode of Lazy Girls' Guide to Beauty, Jackie Perdue is joined by POPSUGAR Beauty Reporter Kirbie Johnson to dish hair secrets to keep you looking fresh and beautiful in half the time! Follow these easy bedtime beauty tricks to wake up with gorgeous hair.
Curly hair is a godsend. Sure, you might not think that all the time, but curly hair has so many benefits! Like natural volume, which adds a certain whimsy to any hairstyle. With braids, you'll never have to worry about them being flat — the curls add bulk that many straight-haired women load up on styling powder for. And topknots are never, ever puny with curls!
Because we wanted to show off how versatile curly hair is, we recruited
celebrity hairstylist Richard Collins, whose clients include Vanessa
Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, and Helen Mirren, to create these seven
gorgeous looks that any curly girl can replicate at home — a look for
every day of the week!
In terms of products you'll need on
standby, Richard suggests something to tame frizz and keep your mane
controlled. Schwarzkopf curling cream is his favorite. "It's also light.
You don't want anything too heavy on curly hair, or any hair, really."
So
what advice does Richard have for those who have curly hair? "A lot of
people with curly hair want it straight. Try not to flat iron it too
much; try not to use a curling iron too much. Definitely use something
with a heat protector in it." And in terms of washing your hair, Richard
suggests washing your curls every fourth day. "And I think you can get
away with not using shampoo. Sometimes you can get away with just using
conditioner. You need to use shampoo, but it's not necessary every
single time. I think it's a mistake that people use it every single
time. Unless you're Spinning or something. In between, try to use
conditioner," says Richard.
These days, it's harder to find the perfect hair stylist than it
is to find the perfect partner. Placing the future of your hair into a
stranger's hands is a hard thing to do but it almost seems like every
time I find the right stylist, the one who knows exactly what I want,
either retire or relocate. I know I can't be the only one who has this
ongoing problem so here are a few tips on how to choose a new hair
stylist.
Word of Mouth
The best way to find a new
hair stylist, in my opinion, is by word of mouth. If you have a friend
whose haircut or style you admire, ask them where they got it done. Ask
your family members or the people you work with who they like to visit
for their hair, and why. The next time you're waiting for a bus and you
see someone with a great cut, ask them for pointers. These days everyone
carries business cards and I'm sure you'll come across many. If someone
is excited about something as fantastic as their appearance they will
want to share it with you, even if you're a total stranger.
Social Media
Two
words: Google it! If you've heard about a salon or think you might be
interested in seeing your neighbor's stylist, look it up on the
Internet. That's what it's there for, after all. Read reviews of their
site and services on sites like Yelp. See what your friends have to say
about any particular hair stylist on Twitter or Facebook. The Internet
is a world of knowledge just waiting to be tapped into and serves to
help people like us make the best decision based on other people's good
and bad experiences.
Visit the Salon
Finally, if
you're uncomfortable taking other people's word for it, check the salon
out yourself. Schedule a consultation with the stylist you're thinking
about trusting with the future of your hair and sit down with them for a
minute to discuss what you want and what they think will suit you best.
Bring in pictures of models or celebrities whose style you admire so
you can show a visual of how you imagine yourself looking once the
makeover is complete. If the stylist doesn't have the time to meet with
you and take to slow, don't use their services. We can get very attached
to our hair and if that person doesn't understand you then they're not
worth your time.
Finding a new hair stylist takes time and
preparation if you're going to do it right. You can't trust just anyone
with knowing exactly what you want as a hair style but through word of
mouth, social media, and in-person visits you are sure to find the right
hair stylist for you. And with a little bit of luck, maybe you'll be
able to convince them to stick around so you won't have to go through
all the work of find that perfect stylist all over again!

Introducing NEW Mongongo Oil Multi-Use Curl Treatment
The first oil designed to address the specific needs of each type.
How To Use Mongongo Oil on Tight Curls:
1. Spray 1-2 pumps of Mongongo Oil into palm and rub hands together.
2. Smooth oil over individual curls from roots to ends.
Whether you have short, curly, or fine hair, you can still totally achieve beautiful, fuss-free looks without the help of a hot tool. Instead, take note from the video above and try an overnight treatment and style that will take your morning-after hair to the next level.
Want to rock natural curls? All it takes is a little leave-in conditioner and a silk scarf. How about effortless waves? Try twisting your hair into small buns and securing with bobby pins. Keep watching for five how-tos to follow the next time you're bored of the curling iron and want to treat your hair to a little extra TLC.
Wrapping a piece of hair around your bun is done, people. Now it's all about adorning your messy knot with some jewelry, which is why the bun cuff has flown off the shelves. We're all about a good hack though, and this one saves you some money. All you need is hot glue, a small scrunchie (throwback time!) and an inexpensive cuff. Your hair will be decked out in no time!
And user tip: pull the scrunchie over the bun while the front of the cuff is laying flat onto your hair. You'll see what I mean when you watch the video.
Getting your hair colored is one of the most sought after things
these days, primarily because of the shine and shimmer it adds to dull,
lackluster locks. It is in fact, the easiest way to cover gray and
change the way you look. However, the experience can be disastrous as
well, if not done under the guidance of hair experts. Several beauty
salons are frequented by people who have had unpleasant experience with
hair colorations and want color corrections.
Color correction, as
the name suggests, corrects the hair color and gives you that stunning
look which you always have desired. Most hair experts are of the view
that color correction can best be done within three days of hair damage.
However, you always have the option of visiting the beauty salon
nearest to you to get the color correction done. Bare in mind, you may
be required to visit the hair salon several times, if the hair has been
greatly damaged.
If you have recently had your hair colored and it
is just not suiting your style, you can go for hair color remover, but
make sure that you do this in a hair salon only or else you might end up
having brassy and even more damaged hair. Only a professional at a
beauty salon can help you have the hair color you desire.
If you
just have had highlights done, and they are lighter than what you
expected, you may ask your hair salon expert to use a hair toner. On the
other hand, if the highlights are darker than what you had envisioned,
you would have to re-color your hair. One thing you should bear in mind
while getting your hair colored again is that use of a good, color
enhancing conditioner can prevent further hair damage.
The
perplexities associated with experimenting with hair at home result in
hair disasters which apparently have no solution but to seek advice from
your beauty salon expert.
Picking the right hair color is a tricky task, and I get asked often about the right technique to do so. Today I am sharing my two rules for selecting the right level and tone- for more flattering colors!
The Pull-Thru braids is one of my favorites! There's literally hundreds of ways to style it so today I'm sharing one of my favorites + how to stack three other styles on top of it for different looks.
This easy, feminine braid shows off your curls and keeps hair off your face.
STEPS:
1. Create a side part, and prep curls with Ouidad Finishing Mist Setting & Holding Spray to add texture.
2. On the side of your part with more hair, divide hair into three one-inch sections and begin creating a regular, three-strand braid.
3. Continue braiding until you reach the ends of your hair, and secure with a clear elastic.
4. Use a bobby pin to secure the braid behind your ear.
5. Brush your loose curls gently to soften the look.
6. Finish with more hairspray for all-day hold

A master of his profession, no one understands the transformative power of hair better than Kevin Murphy. His work has graced the covers of all the major global print publications and he has directed hair teams for countless high profile fashion houses. Having trained at Vidal Sassoon in London, Kevin returned to Australia to establish himself as one of the country’s most sought-after stylists. As a regular contributor to Australian Vogue he has carved his niche within the industry as the go-to-guy for the ‘beach hair’ look, and in 2007, Kevin was awarded the Australian Masters Award at the AHFAS for his outstanding contributions to the profile of Australian Hairdressing worldwide.
Working on shoots and fashion shows, models go through a number of hair and makeup changes in the course of a day. Kevin found that as the day progressed the models’ hair became heavy, dull and lifeless, and there were no styling products on the market that fulfilled his needs as an editorial stylist… so, he created his own, and in answering his own needs as a stylist, he developed products that were easy to use and crossed over to consumers perfectly.
Your curls go through a lot in 24 hours. Everything from the weather to working out to resting your head on the pillow at night can cause your perfectly defined curls to flatten or frizz. Luckily, it’s easy to revive second (or third!) day curls when you’re armed with the right tools. Watch and learn how our Botanical Boost® Curl Energizing & Refreshing Spray can give new life to limp curls.
How to get the look:
1. Starting with dry hair, mist Botanical Boost® Curl Energizing &
Refreshing Spray all over. Don’t be afraid to really saturate the
hair—this will help to reactivate your curl pattern, and the no-residue
formula won’t weigh down your curls.
2. Cup curls with the palms of your hands to help them reform.
3. Dry damp curls with a diffuser, using a lifting motion to boost body.
4. To help define individual curls, coil small sections around your
finger.
5. Mist with Curl Last™ Flexible-Hold Hairspray, holding the can about 6
inches away from your hair, to help curls hold their shape.

As a bride you definitely want to look your best and all eyes
will be on you all through the day. To look gorgeous from head to toe is
a must and your hair is one of those things you should take seriously
besides choosing a great looking gown. There are long lists of best
bridal hairstyles and remembering a few things can help you make the
right decision with your wedding hairstyles.
Match the hair with the gown
This
is one of the most important things if you do not want to end up
looking as though your hair is competing with the gown. Striking a match
between the two is what you should focus on. If you have a modern chi
dress, select a sleek blow out or hold your hair back. For a gown that
has a country look or peasant dresses and high waist frocks choose curls
for your hair and you can add tiny flowers to complete the curly look.
Dramatic up dos on the other hand can turn out great for big ball gown
type of dresses. Whatever you choose should match with the type of dress
you have selected. The tip here is to choose your dress first before
then finding the perfect hairstyle.
The length of your hair matters
This
is something most brides forget even though it is very important. Some
styles are best for long hair while others are more suitable for short
hair. Wedding hairstyles for short hair are more popular, but you can
also rock your wedding with amazing wedding hairstyles for long hair.
For short locks, a mini barrette and a pixie make very good chic and
simple wedding looks but the choices are numerous. For longer locks,
buns, barrettes and petals are some amazing ideas. Your hairdresser can
come in handy in giving you choices depending on the length of your
hair. Fashion magazines can also be helpful sources for any length of
hair.
Remember the veil
Apart from making
sure that your wedding hairstyle matches with the dress, also remember
the veil and how suitable the hairstyle is going to be for your veil. If
you have chosen a style whose charm is lost under the veil, you can
consider wearing fascinators which are back and trending. There are also
fancy short bridal hats that can be worn but make sure that you choose
the veil before you go for the hairstyle to keep limits at bay.
Understand your hair type
This
is very important because even the simplest hairstyles look great on
particular hair types. Very short hair or hair that is very fine can be
tricky to work with but there are styles that best suit this kind of
hair. Same goes for curly hair, which can be tricky to straighten and
make skinny. Know which hairstyles your hair will hold without problems.
You should actually consider booking a trial with your hairdresser to
help make a great choice beforehand.

Adding any type of braid in the back of your head with a bun, can make a hairstyle seem more put together. This style will work with a french braid as well, whichever one is easier for you to do on yourself. Have fun with this bun technique that’s a little bit different.
Summer may be peak frizz season, but that doesn’t mean you’re doomed to wearing your curls in a ponytail until fall. For smooth, defined, frizz-free curls, all you need are the right tools.
Watch and learn how to protect your curls from frizz using the “rake and shake” method and our bestselling Climate Control® Heat & Humidity Gel. This “top coat” for curls is designed to work with humidity, not against it, to balance moisture levels and leave curls bouncy and defined—never frizzy.
Product useds:
Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel Clear Control Pomade
How to get the look: 1. Starting with clean, damp curls, separate hair into sections and secure with a clip.
2.
Beginning with the section at the nape of your neck, rake a nickel-size
amount of Climate Control® Heat & Humidity Gel through curls from
roots to ends.
3. While still holding the ends of your hair,
shake at the wrist to encourage your natural curl pattern. Tip: Smaller
sections create more definition and volume.
4. Repeat on the remaining sections.
5. Blow dry your curls with a diffuser on a low, warm setting—or allow curls to air dry.
6.
Open the curl with a finishing product, such as Ouidad Clear Control
Pomade. Pull your curls into a "pineapple" ponytail on top of your head,
and use your hands to run the pomade over your hair.

With the current state of the economy, many women are looking to
save money wherever they can. This often means clipping coupons for
their favorite grocery products, learning to change their own tires, and
carpooling for work and school. However, one thing that women should
not try to cut corners with is their haircare.
Here are 4 great reasons to get your hair done at a professional hair salon:
1.
Professional hair stylists know what products to use to make your hair
look its best. Many women have damaged their hair by using the wrong
kinds of color, relaxers and other products. Others may have split ends,
or damage from heating their hair with blow dryers and curling irons. A
hairdresser may have products on hand that will help to repair this
damage, as well as to help protect your hair from future mishaps.
2.
A professional hair stylist can help you find a look that works for
your facial type and personality. Let's face it, the style that you wore
in high school tends to get a little old once you hit thirty. Also,
while Halle Berry may be able to pull off the latest short style, if
your face is square it may not look as fabulous. A hair dresser will be
able to find a style that matches your face and personality while
keeping you abreast of the newest styles and helping to keep your look
from becoming dated.
3. Your look is almost as important as your
resume. When it comes to landing a great job or moving up in the company
that you are already a part of, looking the part goes a long way
towards letting potential employers know that you are prepared for
success. Getting your hair done professionally shows that you care about
details like your appearance enough to not cut corners by doing things
yourself that can be done better by someone else.
4. Getting your
hair done at a hair salon helps you save time. Many women shave about 30
minutes to an hour off of their daily prep time when getting ready for
work just by having a style that is low maintenance and that can last at
least a week between sessions.
As they say, the hair is a woman's
crowning glory. Mess with anything else, but not the hair. Do not take
chances and get your hair done at a professional hair salon.
When it comes to creating wavy hair, it's easier said than done. There are plenty of hacks: sleep in braids, scrunch your hair, use a beach-wave spray. But if your hair is straight as a board, you're going to need heat to keep your waves intact.
Plus, not all waves are created equal! Polished, sleek, Old Hollywood waves are perfect for work, taking meetings, or a fancy night out, while beach waves are the perfect "I'm carefree and fabulous!" daytime look or — if you're like me — create a sexy, edgy look with texture for a night of dancing.
There are a few tricks to mastering each look and a few products you'll need by your side, too. Check out how to get both of these full-range wave looks in this quick tutorial.
